EWB-USA supports community-driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders.

Our Beginning

The Engineers Without Borders Vermont Professional Chapter started in 2008 to support the University of Vermont Engineers Without Borders Chapter.  In the fall of 2012, we refocused our efforts in growing as an independent professional chapter with our own projects.  In July of 2013, our first program in Nicaragua was approved and in November we completed our first trip.  Since then, we have gone back two more times and recently installed a water fed chlorination system to provide clean water to a community of 700 people.

While our main purpose is helping partner communities around the globe develop lasting physical and social improvements to their environment, we realize the value of giving back to our community as well.  With that in mind EWB VT works in Vermont by volunteering monthly for different local organizations.  Some of the organizations we have worked with are the VT Special Olympics, Salvation Army, Prevent Child Abuse Vermont and the National MS Society to name a few.  Check our events calendar for details on our next opportunity.
